Sticking to tradition of black on white, Berkowitz continues his exploration into the expansion of brush strokes, and the search for harmony between the gentle and the potent. In this new, collage like work, the process flips from the shape informing the brush stroke to the opposite where now a series of raw strokes are cut, folded, layered, and placed within each others context. Billowing off the wall the marks now breathe in a new way.

The show, which opens Friday, Feb. 10 with a free reception from 5-8 p.m., runs through March 18.
