Harlem River Noise at Evangeline’s

April 24, 2019   •   7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
  •   Cost: Free

Harlem River Noise bring high energy, foot tapping, heel stomping, hell-raising, jamboree across the country, stopping to perform at Evangeline’s Bistro & Music House!

HARLEM RIVER NOISE

Dynamic-duo Kyle Lacy & Cody Gibson front a quartet featuring searing vocals and sassy saxophone. Instrument-switching & singalongs aid them as they guide rock’n’roll back to its 50’s roots. If you like J.D. McPherson, Little Richard, or Big Joe Turner, you’ll love Harlem River Noise’s live show.

In February 2017 at the legendary Sun Studios, two sidemen on a recording session bonded over 1950s rock’n’roll music. Returning to NYC, they discovered they were Harlem neighbors, and the Harlem River Noise was born. Recorded live to Tape, their first album Currents captures a marathon 2-day recording session. Adobe & Teardrops called the album “a breezy stroll through (or lindy hop) through Saturday nights of yore.” Tracks “I’ve Been Shakin” and “South to Carolina” were featured on Rockabilly + Blues Radio Hour with Nashville DJ James Riley.

They enlisted their friends for record release tour in 2017, and were soon playing festivals such as Viva East Rockabilly Weekender, Fayetteville Roots Festival, and Musikfest, all in the span of a year. After releasing the single ‘Irresponsible Days’ in summer ‘18, directly supported by a month-long US-tour, they will release a new album in Spring/Summer 2019 inspired by their love of vintage soul like Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, and the genre-defying Wood Brothers. Their tour is on-going and they are looking forward to performing at Viva Las Vegas in April of 2019, and at Byrd’s Creek Music Festival in July 2019.
