Square One Gallery is pleased to present DOPAMINE, a group exhibition featuring six exceptional contemporary artists whose works expand the horizons of shape, application and color. Through varying techniques and found somewhere between painting and sculpture, each piece presents an opportunity for a unique visual experience, relying on aesthetics rather than narrative to elicit responses from the brain’s pleasure receptors.

Lush drips, exotic forms and luminous colors work together to create a landscape of works primed to provide a sense of instant gratification. In contrast to our everyday encounters of digital stimuli through news, media, and online social interactions, DOPAMINE requires the physicality and spatial acuity that accompanies being present with each work, inviting the viewer to stop, stare and lose one’s self in the joy, tension and intrigue felt with each observation.
