Journey around the world and across history with collector Jon Crumiller during his lecture Cultural Threads: Stories Told Through Chess Sets from Around the World. Learn how the diverse iconography of antique chess sets created in nations including China, England, France, India, and Russia offers unique insights into cultural history, telling stories of power, confl ict, and trade. A portion of Crumiller’s remarkable chess set collection, which contains over 600 sets from over 40 countries, is currently on display in the World Chess Hall of Fame’s exhibition Encore! Ivory Chess Treasures from the Jon Crumiller Collection.
