Left Bank Books — St. Louis’ oldest independent bookstore — is turning 50. Come celebrate and party like it’s 1969! You’re invited to join in the festivities at The Mahler Ballroom, as they celebrate a half century of bookselling, activism, and good times. Featuring the music of singer-songwriter, pianist, producer, and composer, Katarra Parson. Free & Open to the Public
The Legendary CWE Halloween party kicks off this Saturday at 11 a.m. with our Kids’ Costume Parade and Party, featuring Cinderella and her carriage, the Moolah Shriners in their YOMO cars, clowns, face painters and more. The parade begins in the parking lot at Walton & McPherson. We are excited to announce that St. Louis’ own Kennedy Holmes (from The Voice) will be this year’s grand marshal for the kids parade. Bring your children down to the CWE and join in the fun! After the parade, stick around for trick-or-treating at neighborhood businesses at noon.

Our Legendary CWE Halloween party is an all day affair — and at 1 p.m., it’s time for the pooches to come out and play! Our Dog Costume Parade and Party begins in the parking lot at Walton and McPherson. Owners are invited to register their dogs in the costume contest; costumes will be judged along the parade route for categories including funniest, cutest and most creative. Winners receive Central West End Bucks, which are accepted at numerous businesses throughout the neighborhood. After the parade, stick around for live music and entertainment on the Maryland Main Stage, featuring performances by The Gaslight Squares, Jason Garms, and Saint Boogie Brass Band.

As the sun sets, the Legendary CWE Halloween party continues with an adults-only bash and costume contest, known for its elaborate, complex and outrageous costumes, and featuring $6,000 in cash and prizes! Interested in participating in our adults-only costume contest? Click here for all the details! The top 10 finalists will be announced at 9:30 p.m., and the top three winners at 10 p.m. You must be present for the final round of judging to win. Get ready for a fun-filled evening, including fire dancers, hula hoop dancers, a DJ and more!
