With a diverse range of styles featured in the exhibition, you will be exploring the use of color in the St. Louis art scene today! Participate in a Community Cleanup | CWE Neighborhood Security Initiative

Saturday, July 17
8-10 a.m.

Help make a difference in your own community during the CWE Neighborhood Security Initiative’s first Community Cleanup event! Make plans to meet at the NSI office (447 N. Euclid) on Saturday, July 17 at 8 a.m. The group will then walk together to Delmar Blvd for the cleanup, starting at N. Kingshighway and moving east towards N. Taylor Ave. The area is full of trash and could use some TLC from the community. Due to heat and traffic concerns, they are not planning on continuing the cleanup past 10 a.m.

They will be providing the supplies for the cleanup, including bottled water, trash bags, gloves, and hand sanitizer. They will also be providing grab bags to the first 30 volunteers.

While shopping on McPherson, you can also experience the neighborhood’s vibrant arts district with DIY craft workshops, live music, street performers, artist demonstrations, and more! Explore world-class galleries, including Duane Reed GalleryHouska GalleryPhilip Slein Gallery, and projects+gallery and view their current exhibitions on display!

You can also join the creative folks at Perennial to make some fashionable wearables using upcycled t-shirt yarn! They’ll show you techniques to braid + twist to transform this colorful yarn into bowties, headbands, bracelets, and more. Tables will be set up along the sidewalk on McPherson. Stop by anytime (from 1-5 p.m.) to start creating (please note: seating is first-come, first-serve).
