Head to The World Chess Hall of Fame tonight for a unique season preview concert by the Gesher Music Festival. With their name taken from the Hebrew word for ‘connection,’ the Gesher Music Festival is building bridges across cultures and communities by presenting concerts under the theme of Shelter of Peace: the music of refuge, of security, and of sanctuary. The Gesher Music Festival features local and national musicians, enriching the artistic fabric of Saint Louis through the synergy of new creative collaborations. Reservations are required. Admission includes one free drink and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.
Bring the Kids to a Back-to-School Ice Cream Social | Left Bank Books

Left Bank Books is making it easier to say goodbye to summer and hello to school! Tomorrow afternoon, the Left Bank Kids Club is hosting a “Back-to-School Ice Cream Social.” Grab your Left Bank Kids Club Passport (new members can pick up a passport at the event) and get ready for a cranky pigeon, back-to-school giveaways, and a custom ice cream bar! Children can make their own sundae and settle in to a reading of “Pigeon HAS to Go to School!” by Mo Willems.

This Sunday, August 11, Up-Down STL is opening one hour early (10 a.m.) for a special family day event! They will be selling pizza by the slice for those who are hungry, as well as soda and other kid-friendly drinks to those under 21 and a full bar to those over 21. As always, games are 25 cents or one token per play. This event is free to attend, and is open to all ages. All minors MUST be accompanied by someone who is 21 or older.
