The Missouri History Museum’s Historic St. Louis app invites you to step back in time and re-discover the city through historical photography from MHM’s Photograph and Prints Collection. This free app enables users to place the historical image over the phone’s current camera view, allowing for a compelling “then and now” vantage point. The above photo was taken right here in the Central West End and shows the current storefronts of Rothschild’s Antiques and Red Brick STL along with a view of the past. Users can also use the GPS enabled map to navigate the exact spot the photographer once stood, literally taking a “walk in their shoes.” Pretty cool if you ask us.
