Ciao! A new Italian restaurant is now open in the Central West End! You can dine under the stars at Edera Italian Eatery, located at 48 Maryland Plaza. Due to COVID-19, they have opened with a limited menu available for carryout, curbside pick-up, or delivery. Their beautiful courtyard is open for dine in, first come, first served. They have implemented additional safety protocols, including disposable menus and dinnerware. For the safety of guests and staff, they ask that you please wear a mask while not seated at your table.

Are you in need of a new book? You’re in luck! Left Bank Books is now open to small groups by appointment only, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Appointment blocks are 45 minutes with a max of 6 customers total at a time. A deposit of $25 per person, in the form of a gift card that can be used toward a purchase at Left Bank, is required to book the appointment. You do not have to use the $25 during your appointment; you can redeem it at any time. Masks are required at all times inside the store, hand sanitizer will be available, and their staff members will sanitize before and after appointment blocks. This Saturday, join Barrett Barrera Projects for an Instagram Live conversation with the legendary McQueen Vault! They will host a virtual gallery walk-through of the Barrett Barrera Projects Lee Alexander McQueen collection, the largest private collection of the late British fashion designer’s work. This will be a unique opportunity to see and hear a dialogue on key pieces of Alexander McQueen up close and in detail, alongside featured items from the McQueen Vault archives. The event will be hosted on the Barrett Barrera Projects Instagram page @bb_projects and also by McQueen Vault @mcqueen_vault.⠀⠀

Don’t miss out! Spots are going fast and registration for the CWE Virtual Halloween Costume Contest closes at midnight on October 22. Even though there won’t be a street party, you can still rock the runway in your creative costume at a private taping on Saturday, October 24 at The Chase Park Plaza Khorassan Ballroom (212 N Kingshighway Blvd) from 1-5 p.m. To comply with social distancing guidelines, contestants must pre-register online and select a time slot. CLICK HERE to pre-register now

Anyone who pre-registers and attends the private taping on Saturday, October 24 will walk away with a $25 gift to a Central West End restaurant or business (or a $50 gift card for group registration).

All costume contestants will be featured in a video on the CWEscene Facebook Page and Youtube Channel on Thursday, October 29. $5,000 in cash and prizes are up-for-grabs for the top 10 finalists, and this year, VIEWERS will be able to vote for their favorite costumes. Winners will be announced on the CWEscene social media pages on Saturday, October 31 at 10:30 p.m.
