5 Things To Do This Weekend: June 17-21

From a daytime Art Stroll along McPherson, to a summer kick-off party at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams — here are five things to do this weekend in the Central West End!

Dine Al Fresco | CWE Streatery

Friday & Saturday
5-10 p.m.

What better way to kick off the start of summer than with a delicious meal under the stars? This weekend, dine al fresco at the Central West End Streatery! Some of your favorite CWE restaurants and bars are expanding their patios into the street to increase operations and provide a safe, socially distanced summer dining experience. From El Burro Loco to Salt+Smoke, you’ve got plenty of options to satisfy your hunger! For more information about the Streatery, click here.

Explore the Vibrant Arts Scene on McPherson | CWE Art Stroll

Saturday, June 19
12-4 p.m.

Come explore why the Central West End is at the heART of it all! This Saturday, you can experience the neighborhood’s vibrant arts district on McPherson with DIY craft workshops, live music, street performers, artist demonstrations, and more! Explore world-class galleries including Duane Reed Gallery, Houska Gallery, Philip Slein Gallery, and projects+gallery. This is the perfect opportunity to view their current exhibitions on display and to learn about each exhibiting artist.

Plus, don’t miss an opportunity to bring out your inner artist! Each Saturday during the Art Stroll, Perennial will be on-site from 1-5 p.m., leading DIY Craft Workshops for anyone to participate in (free of charge)! Established in 2011, Perennial is a St. Louis non-profit dedicated to creative reuse — the process of artistically transforming discarded goods into objects of worth. Tables will be set up along the sidewalk on McPherson. Stop by anytime to start creating (please note: seating is first-come, first-serve). On Saturday — learn how to make your very own upcycled weaving, using salvaged burlap coffee bags and yarns! Incorporate fun pops of color into your artwork, and leave with a ready-to-hang masterpiece!

There will also be live music, street performers, artist demonstrations, and more! For more information, click here.
