5 Things To Do In The CWE This Weekend: July 4-7

From a 4th of July Family Parade to a family-friendly outing at Up-Down STL — here are five things to do this weekend in the CWE!

Join the CWEA 4th of July Family Parade | Begins at McPherson & Euclid

Thursday, July 4
10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Free & Open to the Public

Kick-off your 4th of July at The Central West End Association’s Annual Family Parade! The fun begins at 10 a.m. at McPherson & Euclid. Decorate your bikes and scooters and join the parade walk to Maryland Plaza! Once you arrive, you can celebrate in style with circus performers, magicians, balloon art, face painters, sno cones, and popcorn.

Taste a New Taco | Mission Taco Joint

All Weekend Long

A new taco is calling your name at Mission Taco Joint! Introducing the FIRECRACKER — made with chile and garlic braised chicken thigh, candied jalapeno and grilled onion pico, cilantro lime crema, and topped with a handful of smoked pork belly — all on a fresh flour tortilla. Grab one (or several) this weekend!

Save Room for Dessert | froYo

All Weekend Long

Gooey Butter Cake as a frozen yogurt? All of our dreams have come true! After crushing some tacos, save room for this incredible concoction at froYo. Made with real gooey butter cake from Ann & Allen Baking Company, mixed into their premium White Vanilla yogurt. Cool down with this sweet treat on a hot summer night.

Meet Local Author DuEwa Frazier | Left Bank Books

Saturday, July 6
4-5 p.m.
Free & Open to the Public

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the children, head to Left Bank Books this Saturday! Local author, DuEwa Frazier, will read from and sign her new book “Alice’s Musical Debut.” Set in the 1940s, “Alice’s Musical Debut” reveals the magical connection young Alice McLeod has with nature sounds and musical rhythms. This is a story filled with poetic language and imagery that speaks to the hearts of all children.

Enjoy a Family Outing | Up-Down STL

Sunday, July 7
10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Free & Open to the Public

The family-friendly fun continues on Sunday in the CWE! Grab the kids and head to Up-Down STL — they’re opening their doors early from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to give families a fun place to hang out for an afternoon. They will be selling pizza by the slice for those who are hungry, as well as soda and other kid-friendly drinks to those under 21, and a full bar to those over 21. As always, games are 25 cents or one token per play. All minors MUST be accompanied by someone who is 21 or older.
