5 Things To Do In The CWE This Weekend: July 11-14

From a “Yappy Hour” event for you and your pooch, to “National French Fry Day” — here are five things to do this weekend in the CWE!

Bring Your Pooch to “Yappy Hour” | The Chase Club

Thursday, July 11
4-7 p.m.

Celebrate the dog days of summer with a special Yappy Hour event on The Chase Club’s patio! They’ll have drink specials, plus treats for the pups! All drinks are $8—unless you bring your pooch, in which case they’re HALF OFF. Plus, get 25% off your tab if you fill out a stray rescue adoption application. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Celebrate the Musical History of our Great Nation | The World Chess Hall of Fame

Thursday, July 11
7-8 p.m.
Tickets- $20 General Admission

Enjoy an evening of live music with the Clarion Brass Quintet at The World Chess Hall of Fame. “Our Nation’s Flag” is a musical journey that explores the evolution of the American flag from the original 13 stars-and-stripes by Betsy Ross and George Washington through the 48 stars-and-stripes designed for World War II. Listen to how the folk tunes of the late 1700s developed into music for military brass bands and how the 1800s European operettas were transformed into the unique sounds of the Big Band era and Broadway. Reservations are required. Admission includes one free drink and complimentary hors d’oeuvres.

Dine Out for a Cause | Kingside Diner, Mission Taco Joint, Pi Pizzeria

All Weekend Long

Help make a difference and dine out for a cause! Three CWE restaurants are participating in Operation Food Search’s 9th Annual Tomato Explosion. Featured Tomato-Inspired Dish
Kingside Diner: BLTA (Bacon, lettuce, fried green tomato, avocado, garlic aïoli, wheat bread)
Mission Taco Joint: Chips & Salsa (Two house-made salsas prepared daily)
Pi Pizzeria: Tomato Explosion Pizza (It’s featured on their 12″ Whole Wheat Crust, sauced with Basil Pesto, a bit of shredded Mozz, fresh Basil Leaf, a copious amount of Mixed Heirloom Tomatoes, Mozz ‘Pearls’ and topped with Mike’s Hot Honey and Flake Salt)
