Whether you’re interested in viewing art, shopping great promotions or celebrating the holidays with our signature Window Walk event, there’s something for everyone. Here are five things we’re highlighting this weekend in the CWE.
Attend an Opening Reception| Houska Gallery
Join the Houska Gallery on Friday, Dec. 6 from 5-8 p.m. for the opening reception of their Winter Group Show. The exhibition will feature works from 12 artists plus featured artist Ken Knochel. Of the 12 artists, five artists are showing works at Houska Gallery for the first time and two are returning. Knochel will show his newest series of architectural black-and-white photos. If you’re an art lover, this is an opening that you won’t want to miss.
CWE Window Walk
Visit the CWE on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. to enjoy the first day of Window Walk! You’ll enjoy free holiday festivities, including ice carvings, trolley rides, carolers, live music, street performers, pictures with Santa, s’mores, kettle corn and more! Inside participating retailers and restaurants, enjoy a variety of fun activities and promotions. This year the event will also have a holiday market featuring small businesses from around St. Louis. Additionally, the CID has partnered with St. Louis-area designers and artists who have decorated must-see storefronts spreading holiday cheer throughout the neighborhood. Enjoy Story Time| Left Bank Books
On Saturday from 2-4 p.m., Left Bank Books will have story time featuring local authors. Katie Lerwick, author of “Where Did the Turtles Go?”, will read aloud at 2 p.m. Gina M. Sanfilippo, author of “Tuck & Kara Get a Snow Day”, will read aloud at 2:30 p.m. Tuck the dog will also join them for the event! Juliet Isioma Ezepue, author of “Bright Star”, will read aloud at 3 p.m. Kelley G. Lamm, author of “Oh Olive: Oh No! A Thunderstorm”, will read aloud at 3:30 p.m. Olive the dog will also be in attendance for photo opportunities! While you’re in the neighborhood for Window Walk, stop in to enjoy this fun for the whole family. If you can’t make it this Saturday, they’ll have story time on Dec. 14 also.

Did you know you can get bakery items at Saigon Cafe? In collaboration with The Foundry Bakery, they’re offering a variety of bakery items. Try the creamy Pastéis de Nata or the fan-favorite, irresistible Bolo Buns. These delicious items are freshly stocked daily. Pop in during Window Walk on Saturday to sit down and enjoy one!

Reminder as you’re traveling around the CWE this weekend, that transportation is now easier thanks to the Euclid Shuffle! If you do not wish to walk, it’s too cold or you parked far away, you don’t need to let that stop you from exploring the neighborhood. You can take a FREE ride along Euclid Ave. from Forest Park Ave. to Washington Ave. You can call or text the shuttle for a ride. Hop aboard!
