Gamlin Whiskey House Brings Top Whiskey Ambassador to CWE

The CWEscene’s own Gamlin Whiskey House is helping to put St. Louis on the whiskey map!

With guidance from one of the nation’s leading whiskey experts, Gamlin Whiskey House and members of its Missouri Whiskey Society recently selected the 18th single barrel of Knob Creek bourbon to be sold at the Central West End mainstay. Gamlin Whiskey House is the fastest seller of Knob Creek single barrels.

Adam Harris, national American Whiskey Ambassador for Beam Suntory, led the group through an intimate tasting of three distinct single-barrel whiskeys from the Clermont, Kentucky, distillery. Attendees were taught how to properly taste whiskey — including the all-important Kentucky Chew!  — then given an opportunity to individually evaluate each of the three whiskeys and a chance to vote on their favorite.

In the end, a 12-year-old barrel from the fifth floor of Warehouse E at the Knob Creek Distillery was selected. It is expected to arrive at Gamlin Whiskey House before the holidays and will be available during Window Walk 2016 at their pop-up shop; bottles will be available for $40 each.

“Adam was able to provide a unique perspective on the bourbon-making process as he walked members through a one-of-a-kind tasting experience. Even comparing the uniqueness of each single barrel whiskey to the differences we can find in snowflakes,” GWH owner Derek Gamlin says. “We think the barrel we selected will be a huge hit with our guests.”
