Our first Local Social event held Friday, June 14, combined shopping deals, entertainment, and an appreciation for all things local. The neighborhood was exploding with creativity as musicians, writers, and artists took over the streets. Eager patio-goers embraced the sights and sounds while enjoying discounts and the always-delicious CWE cuisine.
Highlights of the event included artist Jennifer Hayes, Henry David Goldkamp AKA the typewriter poet, and writer Ben Hilliker and his old-fashioned touring car that was stationed on the sidewalk of Left Bank Books. Two additional artists set up shop near the soon-to-be Gamlin Whiskey House and the area outside both Wolfgang’s Pet Stop and Mike’s Bikes. Fernando Torres, a Spanish guitarist, serenaded strollers near Gringo and Pi Pizzeria, while Mango Jay’s steel drum sounds were experienced both outside of Coffee Cartel and throughout the neighborhood.
Local Social is off to an amazing start! Thanks to all who came out and supported the local businesses in the CWE. We have even more excitement planned for our next event on Friday, July 12, and we hope to see you there!
