The Chase Park Plaza Royal Sonesta Hotel, which was purchased by Boston-area real estate investment trust Hospitality Properties Trust in 2017 for $87.75 million, has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the nearly 100-year-old hotel.

The renovations began in late 2018, nearly a year after the hotel was acquired. Chase Park is now under management of Sonesta International Hotels Corp.

“This renovation is a rejuvenation of our presence both in St. Louis and in the tourism and hospitality industry,” Paul Filla, general manager, said in a statement. “It reflects our goal of being a premier travel destination for guests of all ages, whether it’s accommodations, history and culture, dining and entertainment, or relaxing amenities for the mind, body and soul.”
