5 Things To Do In The CWE This Weekend: Sept. 17-20

From a special promotion at Bluemercury, to a new (but familiar) restaurant joining the Central West End Streatery — here are five things to do this weekend in the Central West End!

Switch Up Your Skincare | Bluemercury

Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Sunday, 12-6 p.m.

Looking to change up your skincare for the new season? Bluemercury’s Beauty Experts are here to help you find the right skincare routine for you! For a limited-time only, receive 15% off your in-store purchase of $150. Offer is valid until September 23, so don’t delay!

Explore a New Exhibition | Houska Gallery

Thursday-Saturday
11 a.m.-4 p.m.

A brand-new exhibition is now on display at Houska Gallery and you’ll definitely want to spend some time exploring Quinn Antonio Briceño’s work, which is informed by his experience growing up in Nicaragua and Saint Louis, Missouri. Like many children who are products of a bicultural and biracial marriage, Briceño has struggled with his identity and where he belongs in society. His art explores the tensions and prejudices between ethnicity and social class, elitism and racism, both in the United States and Latin America. The gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment.

Experience a New (But Familiar) Restaurant at the CWE Streatery | Balaban’s

Friday-Saturday
5-10 p.m. (By reservation only at the CWE Streatery)

Exciting news! Balaban’s, a favorite past staple in the CWE, is joining the Central West End Streatery on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-10 p.m. Reservations and entrée pre-order are required. Please call their sister company, Patty Long Catering, at 314-621-9598 to make reservations and review their menu. Come join us in the street, where fine dining and social distancing meet!

Chow Down for a Cause | Mission Taco Joint

All Weekend Long

Chow down for a cause. Mission Taco Joint is excited to announce their giveback taco is back! This specialty BLT taco includes beer-battered bacon, avocado, chipotle aioli, shredded lettuce, and pickled tomatillos on a flour tortilla. As many of you know, they regularly run a specialty taco to benefit local charity partners, and this month, they’ve selected Forward Through Ferguson. This community organization is a catalyst for the uncomfortable conversations, alignment, and empathy needed to move our region forward toward positive change and racial equity. This specialty taco is only available this month, so be sure to try it out AND help make a difference in our community.

Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Month | Kingside Diner

All Weekend Long

School is officially underway, and we’re reminded of just how different things are, how difficult jobs have become even more difficult, and how important it is to work together and support our communities. To show teachers how much they’re appreciated (always, but especially now), Kingside Diner is offering 50% off for all school teachers until October 5! Treat yourself or share with any teachers who you think would enjoy a nice meal out!
