5 Things To Do In The CWE This Weekend: November 4-7

From a timely exhibition that explores themes of motherhood, to learning how to dye your own face mask — here are five things to do this weekend in the Central West End!

Explore Themes of Motherhood | projects+gallery

Gallery Hours:
Thursday-Saturday, 12-5 p.m.

If you haven’t explored projects+gallery’s newest exhibition, you are in luck! Stretch Marks has been extended and is now on view through November 27! Curated by Jennifer Seas, this exhibition explores themes of motherhood with a focus on the body and materiality in the maternal experience. This exhibition seems especially timely given the familial and societal pressures that many mothers have endured over the pandemic.

Dye Your Own Face Mask | World Chess Hall of Fame

Sunday, November 7
1 p.m.

Let your creative side fly and learn how to dye your own face mask using sustainable pigments made from fruits and vegetables from EarthDance on the World Chess Hall of Fame’s outdoor chess patio! EarthDance will demonstrate how to create dye from garden produce, then lead participants through the dyeing process and walk away with a custom-made face mask.

Inspired by the WCHOF’s current exhibition, Check, Please! Chess Dining & Decor, EarthDance will also be serving chess pie and samples of their in-season produce. Supplies are included. RSVP is required and space is limited. $5 (50% off) admission for WCHOF members, seniors, and military personnel. In the event of rain, this program will be canceled with a full refund.

All Month Long

Did you know you can help make a difference during National Adoption Month, simply by dining at Mission Taco Joint? They are donating $1 for every kid’s meal sold in November to the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition in St. Louis, a local non-profit organization that strives to create permanency in children’s lives in foster care and works with the most vulnerable kids to get them placed in a forever home. Mission Taco Joint offers $5 kid’s meals year-round with the option of Chicken Fingers, a Cheese Quesadilla, a Kids Burrito, or Fish & Fries. Dine-in and online orders will be included in this month’s giveback to the coalition.
