Visitors to the Central West End now have an additional way to explore the neighborhood.
The Central West End Business Community Improvement District and the Euclid South Community Improvement District are happy to bring back The Euclid Shuffle — a five-passenger electric cab that runs up and down Euclid Avenue, between Forest Park Parkway and Delmar Boulevard, providing free transportation to the CWE’s shops, restaurants, and galleries.
During the pilot phase, which launched in November 2018 and ran through December 31, 2018, The Euclid Shuffle provided more than 1,400 rides in the CWE.
“A significant number of individuals took advantage of our pilot and we recognized how beneficial this service was to visitors and businesses,” says Kate Haher, executive director of the CWE Business Community Improvement District.
“We are thrilled to be bringing back The Euclid Shuffle and we encourage community members to take advantage of this free service,” says Ashley Johnson, administrator of the Euclid South Community Improvement District.
Visitors can hop aboard The Euclid Shuffle by hailing the cab on the street, calling or texting 314-626-3002, or by requesting service via the eCAB app. The Euclid Shuffle will be available from 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. on Sunday.
“We continue to bring creative mobility ideas to the Central West End,” says Haher. “With the addition of programs like The Euclid Shuffle and our recent partnership with Lyft, residents and visitors now have a more convenient way to explore the neighborhood, without having to worry about where to park or how to get around.”
In September, the CWE Business Community Improvement District started offering $10 off Lyft rides into the neighborhood on Friday and Saturday nights between 5-10 p.m. This promotion is available for the first 100 riders each weekend. The promo code to redeem this offer is CWEWEEKEND and can be accessed anytime here.
