COVID-19 CWE North Community Improvement District Business Updates

We’ve missed seeing all of you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Central West End as the City of St. Louis gradually reopens. The safety of our visitors, businesses, and residents is of the utmost importance to us here at the CWE Business Community Improvement District. We want you to know that we are monitoring all recommendations and updates from government officials surrounding COVID-19, and we will keep you informed on relevant changes as they become available.

While we are excited to have you back in the neighborhood as businesses carefully and thoughtfully reopen — the first priority for everyone is to take appropriate steps to limit the spread of COVID-19 and ensure our entire community remains healthy. Let’s #RestartResponsibly.

Per City of St. Louis guidelines, masks are required at all times inside public places and outside when social distancing is not possible. Please follow guidance from public health officials (you can find all the latest COVID-19 information from the City of St. Louis Department of Health here) regarding social distancing and proper health etiquette when visiting businesses and public spaces.

The health of our community depends on all of us working together, and our small businesses are the lifeblood of the Central West End. We want to make sure they continue to stay successful while following appropriate public health and safety protocols.

Currently, many CWE restaurants are taking extra steps to ensure their spaces are clean and safe for dining-in service by:

  • implementing six feet of distance between employees and customers
  • monitoring employee health
  • providing protective gear to employees (a fabric face cover must always be worn by employees and guests)
  • providing breaks for employees for hand washing and sanitizing, and to wipe down frequently touched surfaces

Many restaurants are also still offering to-go orders, delivery, and curbside pick-up. For information on open air dining and the Central West End Streatery, click here.

Retailers are offering ways to shop safely by:

  • implementing six feet of distance between employees and customers
  • monitoring employee health
  • providing protective gear to employees (a fabric face cover must always be worn by employees and guests)
  • providing breaks for employees for hand washing and sanitizing, and to wipe down frequently touched surfaces
