5 to Try: Best Places to Unwind

Best Places to Unwind

Did you have a rough day? All you want to do relax and take it easy and forget your hectic day. Come to the CWE. The tree-lined streets are the perfect place to forget your troubles and focus on YOU.

Lester’s
Do you want to kick back, relax and watch the game? Lester’s is the place to be. Chill in a woven leather chair in the sleek interior, take advantage of some of their spectacular happy hour specials and watch your favorite team on one of their many hi-def TVs. Nice day? Lester’s even has a stunning rooftop patio, where you can enjoy great views of the neighborhood. Don’t worry, you won’t miss the game – there are flat screens on the patio, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds!

La Petite Spa
You work hard – treat yourself to a little pampering at La Petite Spa. This spa offers a plethora of services to help you look and FEEL better. Relieve some tension with a Swedish Massage or Deep-Tissue massage. De-stress with a mani-pedi or sign up for a Signature Facial. Whatever your needs are, La Petite Spa offers the services to help you forget about your frenzied workweek.

Left Bank Books
Reading is a great way to relax. Luckily one of St. Louis’ best bookstores is in the neighborhood. Love a good romance novel? Looking for gluten-free cookbook? Just looking for a good read? Find it at Left Bank Books. They have the latest and greatest novels, magazines, guidebooks, and more available for your enjoyment. In addition to new releases, there are an abundance of “previously loved” books. Spend hours in the downstairs catacombs looking for rare finds, or an out-of-print classic. Take a hint from Spike (LBB’s black cat mascot), and curl up with a good book.

Starbucks
Sometimes there’s nothing better curling up in a comfy chair, and reading the paper over a cup of coffee. The Starbucks in the CWE is a cozy neighborhood hangout that offers caffeinated drinks galore. Unwind in their comfortable, but modern café or enjoy the view of Maryland from their patio. Order a special blend brewed in the Clover – a unique vacuum press that is only available at two locations in the STL, and forget that Monday is only a few days away.

Gringo
Gringo is destination dining – a vacation in the CWE. Enjoy Gringo’s twist on traditional Tex-Mex cuisine and try the Cheeseburguesa – a traditional American burger served with Mexican ingredient like fundido cheese and pickled jalapeño. Pair it with a Mi Chelada (aka a Mexican Bloody Mary), and you’ll feel like you’re miles away from the office. Or you can grab your friends, order some margaritas and spend your weekend looking for that lost shaker of salt!
