5 Things to Do This Weekend in the CWE: May 10-12

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, head to the Central West End! There’s always something to enjoy in the neighborhood, whether it’s listening to live music, exploring shops or dining out. Make plans to spend Mother’s Day in the CWE, where there are special events, menu items and offers happening throughout. Here are five things we’re highlighting this weekend.

CWE Summer Music Series

Each Friday and Saturday from 6-9 p.m. May through September, we’ll have live music throughout the CWE. There will be a rotation of local musicians that you can enjoy listening to as you stroll, shop and dine out in the neighborhood. This Friday’s performers include Ivas John at the corner of McPherson Ave. and Euclid Ave. and Alberto Patino Duo at the corner of Maryland Ave. and Euclid Ave. View the upcoming schedule here.

Attend an Open House| Paul Mitchell The School

This Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., join Paul Mitchell The School for their spring open house. For those interested in a career in the beauty industry, this is a great opportunity to explore what a future with them could look like. You’ll tour Paul Mitchell’s campus, learn about their program, meet with educators and more. You can RSVP here.

View a Special Screening| Chase Park Plaza Cinema

On Saturday and Sunday, the Chase Park Plaza Cinema will have special screenings of “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”. While viewing this 1921 classic, you’ll enjoy Gerry Marian performing the score live on the organ! This is a unique opportunity to see this old film in its digitally-remastered version on the big screen. If you have a mom who loves movies, this is a special event that she may love. Both screenings will be at 11 a.m. and you can purchase tickets for only $5 here. Sit back with a bag of popcorn and enjoy!

Try a Limited-Time Item| Bubblecup Tea Zone

Enjoy a Mother’s Day special at Bubblecup Tea Zone! This limited-time menu item includes two popular flavors, strawberry and taro. With warmer weather this weekend, it’s the perfect time for you and your mom to enjoy this sweet treat. Enjoy a Mother’s Day Meal| Dressel’s Public House

If you’ve missed out on booking tickets to a Mother’s Day brunch somewhere, don’t worry because there are plenty of dining options in the neighborhood. Head to Dressel’s this Sunday for special menu items such as deviled eggs and bacon, avocado toast and steak and eggs. They’ll also offer their delicious regular menu. Nice weather is expected Sunday, making it the perfect opportunity to sit out on Dressel’s patio, which is now open. Treat the mom in your life to an appetizing meal that she deserves!
