The weekend is here and there’s plenty to do in the Central West End! Whether you’re looking for an activity to enjoy with your pup, an outing for the family or simply trying new restaurants and exploring the shops, there’s something in the neighborhood for everyone. Here are five things we’re highlighting this weekend in the CWE.
Attend the Canine Carnival| Treats Unleashed
Join Treats Unleashed inside the store this Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for their Canine Carnival. Your pup will enjoy enrichment games like “hide n’ treat”, which consists of tennis balls in a tray that the dog must move in order to get the various treats underneath. They will also offer a game for you, with the opportunity to win Treats Unleashed prizes. While there, make sure to get your pup one of the event-exclusive treats, like the carnival tent, popcorn bag or clown cookies. Make plans now to bring your dog out for a day of fun!
Dine Out for Breakfast| Pickles Deli
Have you ever tried Pickles for breakfast? They’re open every Saturday and their morning menu offers hearty food that will have you ready to take on the day. Try their Breakfast Philly, which includes beef, two eggs sauteed with onions, green peppers and a cheese blend. For those craving a bit of sweetness, order the Monte Croissanto, featuring two scrambled eggs, ham and Swiss cheese on a croissant topped with powdered sugar and a side of strawberry jelly. You can’t go wrong with whatever you end up choosing.
Shop New Jewelry| Brilliant Earth
Visit Brilliant Earth this weekend to view the latest additions to the Sol Collection. The new drop includes two earrings, two rings and a bracelet. These elegant pieces are crafted from recycled gold and silver, and adorned with Beyond Conflict Free Diamonds™. You can wear this jewelry on any occasion, from work to date night to brunch with friends. Check out these additions, along with the rest of the Sol Collection and more, in the store.
Try New Menu Items| Drunken Fish
Last month, Drunken Fish released new menu items. If you haven’t dined there in a while, stop by this weekend to try their delicious new food. New items include a spicy fried shrimp appetizer, poke bowls, signature rolls, handrolls and nigiris. They also offer a new vegan taco. Enjoy dinner there after a day spent in the CWE, or take a midday break from exploring the neighborhood and enjoy lunch out.
Catch a Summer Blockbuster| Chase Park Plaza Cinema
This weekend, Chase Park Plaza Cinema is screening the most talked about movies of the summer. Grab your friends and immerse yourself in tornado-ridden Oklahoma with “Twisters”, starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. For families, view Pixar’s popular sequel, “Inside Out 2”. The horror/thriller-genre lovers will want to see “Longlegs”, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage. Also showing is the just-released “Deadpool & Wolverine”, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman returning as their iconic characters. With rain expected on Saturday and Sunday, there isn’t a better weekend than this to spend at the theater.
