With the warmer weather this weekend, are you looking to get out of the house? Head to the Central West End, where we’ve got special events happening along with a spectacular range of retailers and restaurants for you to check out! There’s so much to do in the neighborhood that you’ll want to come back again and again. Here are five things we’re highlighting this weekend.
Have Ice Cream for Breakfast
Looking for something fun and unusual to do? Celebrate national Ice Cream for Breakfast Day! This Saturday, join Clementine’s Creamery and Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams for a morning of special flavors and more. Within easy walking distance, stop by one parlor and then the other! For full details on both events, visit their sites or social media.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will offer four special pairings that day, featuring their new flavor Banana French Toast. This flavor is a banana custard, balanced with pure maple syrup and layered with a combo of cinnamon, dark brown sugar, butter and vanilla. Their four pairings include “Balanced Breakfast”, “Caramel Banana French Toast”, “Spoon Magic” and “The Perfect Parfait”. Even better? You can order your scoops in their new French toast waffle cones!
Clementine’s Creamery will have three one-day-only flavors! Special flavors include Vietnamese Coffee, a dark coffee blend with a splash of sweetened condensed milk, Toasted Nutella Crunch, a Nutella ice cream with crunchy crackers and hazelnuts and Grapefruit Sorbet. You’ll also be able to purchase new Ice Cream for Breakfast Day t-shirts and have the chance to win a giveaway from Tiffany & Co. The CWE will also be one of the locations featuring Dr. Dancakes, who makes fun, personalized pancakes!
Take a Free Workout Class| Lululemon
This Saturday, stop by Lululemon to sign up for a free workout from 1-5 p.m. at Maryland Plaza. The class is in collaboration with Body Fit Training, a local strength training studio. This workout is designed to burn fat and build muscle; all are welcome! In need of some new exercise apparel? When you sign up, shop Lululemon’s large selection of leggings, shorts, t-shirts, shoes and more. They even have Valentine’s-themed colors new in stock. Show up in the afternoon in your new fit for a great workout!
Enjoy Dinner Out| Yellowbelly
Looking for somewhere to eat out on Friday or Saturday night? Try Yellowbelly! Whether you’re a little hungry or looking for a hearty meal, Yellowbelly can satisfy your cravings. They offer snacks like street corn tacos and small plates like spam fried rice for those wanting a small bite. If you’re hungrier, try their large plates such as chorizo and broccolini tamales or one of their tasty burgers, like their jerk spiced chicken burger. They offer a good selection of gluten-free and vegetarian options too. With Dry January over, you’ll also want to order one of their 16 specialty cocktails!
Shop New Arrivals| East • West
For the people looking ahead to spring, you may need some clothing for the in-between weather. Visit the store this weekend and shop their winter-spring transitional pieces! There’s new clothing from brands Lady White Co. and Orslow for you to check out. Pieces include light waffle knits, button-ups, crewnecks and lots of denim. East • West offers modern, sleek clothing that’s perfect for a style revamp in 2024!
Reminder as you’re traveling around the CWE this weekend, that transportation is now easier thanks to the Euclid Shuffle! If it’s too cold for you to walk, or you parked far away, you don’t need to let that stop you from exploring the neighborhood. You can take a free ride along Euclid Ave. from Forest Park Ave. to Washington Ave. You can call or text the shuttle for a ride. Hop aboard!
