The Central West End North Community Improvement District (CWE NCID) is thrilled to announce the return of Halloween in the Central West End on Saturday, October 27,2012. With family-friendly daytime activities and the famous Adult Costume Contest and Party at night – featuring over $3,000 in cash and prizes – you’re sure to have a monstrous time!
The daytime events kick off at 11 am with a Children’s Costume Parade and Party beginning at the Euclid and McPherson intersection. A very special princess and prince in a pumpkin carriage will lead the parade of children and their families south to Maryland Plaza. Following the costume parade, children will enjoy fun Halloween entertainment and activities from the main stage. Treat bags will also be handed out for children to use for trick-or-treating at participating neighborhood businesses. Trick or Treating begins at noon.
Even furry friends are included in the festivities, with a Dog Costume Parade and Contest beginning at 1 pm at the intersection of Euclid and McPherson continuing south to Maryland Plaza. Registered dogs for the costume contest will be judged along the parade route. Categories include Funniest, Cutest, Most Creative and Best Ensemble. After the parade, winners will be announced and invited on stage.
To be eligible for judging in the Dog Costume Contest, dogs must be registered in advance of parade and have entry number. Pre-registration at Wolfgang’s until 12pm on day of event. Registration at event begins at 12:30pm in front of Left Bank Books. Registration is free.

Come back when the sun goes down for the nighttime adults-only costume contest and party – THE place to be in St. Louis for Halloween! Wickedly entertaining John Carney and Trish Busch will be on-hand to emcee the festivities. Registration for the costume contest begins at 7pm. Entry fee is $25 for individuals or $50 for groups. Over $3,000 in cash prizes awarded.
