Join the World Chess Hall of Fame for a special presentation of works for cello and piano by Bulgarian composers.

As featured on the recently released CD, “Bulgarian Sketches,” these little-known pieces are inspired by Bulgaria’s rich folk vocal and instrumental music traditions.

Marta Simidtchieva is currently the Professor of Cello at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. An avid advocate for contemporary music, including the music of composers from her native Bulgaria, Marta released her album, “Bulgarian Sketches” in 2018. The CD received a silver medal for Outstanding Achievement for a New Release by the 2019 Global Music Awards. The CD was also recorded with dynamic pianist Kris Pineda.
